Performance boards are generally link to problem collection board or action plan board. Should be visual showing quickly all the gaps to detect if are out of the target. We must also avoid to examine to many indicators. 1 to 3 indicators are sufficient to provide an overview of performance. It is better to have few indicators but with big lever effects. Each performance board is associated to a process with a routine (frequency of update). The display expresses facts bearing no judgment: « a gap is not a fault, it is a fact, a reality not guilty».
Creation of the board. Define needs and content (link to "kpi tree"). Should be at dedicated place, visible for everyone, on the field, close to the team. Handwritten is better.
