WHY

Lead Time is an important factor for customer satisfaction. Typically customers want goods or service as fast as possible with minimal effort.

WHAT
​​

Lead Time is the amount of time between process initiation and completion. For example, the lead time between the placement of an order and delivery of a new bike from a manufacturer may be anywhere from 1day to 3 weeks.

HOW

​

  1. Implement Leadtime measurement in your organization

  2. Have a strong 5S in all areas

  3. All stock / WIP are visual identified and required level is fixed. Deviation from standard is visible

  4. Performances are monitored and PDCA is in place to improve it.

  5. Changeover is monitored and are correlated to stock strategy

  6. Value stream map is showed in each area and action plan for the year is in place.

  7. Team is reviewing periodically progress of leadtime. Reduction generating ideas on that topic.

  8. Leaders are challenging status with weekly gembawalk.
